Cider

Cider is an alcoholic drink made from the fermented juice of apples. The juice of most types of apple, including crab apples, can be used to produce cider, but cider apples are best. The word cider is first mentioned in Middle English in biblical use as a "strong drink".

Apple cider contains polyphenols, compounds in plants that act as antioxidants. They can support the body against free radicals and cell damage, reducing the risk of certain types of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Polyphenols can help to reduce inflammation in the body.
