Drambuie

Drambuie is a golden-colored, 40% ABV liqueur produced from Scotch whisky, heather honey, herbs, and spices.

Its roots come from a secret recipe created for Bonnie Prince Charlie by his Royal Apothecary in the 18th Century. The name Drambuie is derived from Scots Gaelic An Dram Buidheach.

The taste is smooth and luxurious mouthfeel, with flavors of saffron and allspice wandering beneath its top layer of rich sweetness. After the bottle is opened, will last up to 6 months after opening. Cream liqueurs should be kept cold, ideally in your fridge, to extend their shelf life.

Rusty Nail

A Rusty Nail is made by mixing Drambuie and Scotch whisky and can be served in an old-fashioned glass on the rocks, neat, or "up" in a stemmed glass. Versions of the drink can be made using any aged spirit, though blended Scotch whisky is traditional. The cocktail recipe is often credited to the clever bartenders at the 21 Club in Manhattan sometime in the early 1960s.
