The Canchanchara is made with Cuban aguardiente, honey, and fresh lime juice. The cocktail is said to be the oldest known cocktail in Cuba, dating back to (or before) the Ten Years War in the late 19th century when Cuban guerrillas, known as mambises, began the fight against Spain for independence.

Ingredients

Adjust Servings
1 1/2 ounce Cuban aguardiente
1/2 ounce Lime juice
1/2 ounce Honey syrup
1 splash Club soda
1 garnish Lime wedge

Instructions

1.
Add the rum, juice of one lime and honey syrup into a shaker with ice, and shake until well-chilled.
2.
Strain into glass mug filled with fresh ice.
3.
Top with a splash of club soda.
4.
Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.
