A michelada is a Mexican cocktail made with beer, lime juice, assorted sauces, spices, tomato juice, and chili peppers. It is served in a chilled, salt-rimmed glass. The Michelada’s origins are unclear, with multiple legends surrounding its creation. But it likely dates back to the middle of the 20th century when it became popular in Mexico. There are multiple variations of this drink throughout the country.

Ingredients

Adjust Servings
1 pinch Sea salt
1 pinch Cayenne pepper
1/2 ounce Lime juice
2 dash Worcestershire sauce
2 dash Tabasco sauce
1 pinch Black pepper
1 pinch Celery salt
1 pint Mexican beer
1 garnish Lime wedge

Instructions

Add equal parts salt and cayenne pepper to a plate or shallow bowl.
2.
Add the lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, black pepper and celery salt into the glass.
3.
Fill with the beer and garnish with a lime wedge.
4.
Serve and enjoy!
